Celiac disease is a disease of malabsoption. Symptoms may vary from person to person. It may occur in the digestive system or other parts of the body. The only treatment for this kind of disease is a gluten-free diet.

Celiac disease is a rapidly growing condition, wherein the body develops an immune reaction or sensitivity to gluten. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye and oats. This damages the intestines and reduces the body’s ability to absorb food, vitamins and minerals. It gradually leads to serious illnesses and malignancies that can be fatal. This disease can surface at any age and can afflict both children as well as adults.
