nail fungus

Another friend is quite fat, diabetic and craves for sugar. She recently has nail fungus, and under treatment is craving or excessive eating of foods rich in sugar blocks the effects of anti fungal medication? Some of my friends told me maybe she’s depressed about her figure that’s why she’s over eating as defense compensation.

Your friend has to realize that eating sugar rich foods will worsen the situation and has to control her cravings. I understand she is depressed, but she has to be strong enough to overcome this problem. She may feel this is her defense compensation, but indirectly she is troubling herself and complicating her situation. Take her to a counselor or a trustworthy person and make her talk to them about the problem she is facing. She needs some psychological support than any kind of medical support to cure the problem.

Stella,

Sorry to hear about your friend. I've had patients who've had psychological issues dealing with nail fungus, but none ever turned to eating sugar rich foods. That's really unfortunate because sugar promotes fungal growth. The important thing is to be there for your friend emotionally, and also help them seek effective treatment.

If you need more info about finding effective treatments, I run a small website dealing with Toenail Fungus Treatment called Yellow Toenails Info Any questions just let me know.

There are many antibiotic lotions available which can do the trick with fungus and remove it completely from the nail . But it is better to consult a doctor first .
