Home remedies for Psoriasis?

Posted: Friday, November 27, 2009 6:40:47 PM
I have been suffering from Psoriasis for 13 years now and i am currently using DermaZinc to help with my flair ups. The stuff works well, but i have to constantly go to the Dermatologist for "check ups" and i need a prescription to get the product. Not to mention its not the most inexpensive medicine, and there are some chemicals in it that i'm sure aren't too healthy. I am looking for a home remedy that i can use to help with my flair ups rather than spend and arm and a leg on DermaZinc. Anyone have any suggestions? I could really use the help ): Thank you!

The best therapies are all natural. I highly recommend Oatmeal baths. Aveno carries a good Oatmeal based product for skin problems....i have psoriasis too and it helps with flare ups. Also mud baths and natural hot springs work wonders. You might also want to try a Probiotic for your digestive tract-it will help with your skin-trust me

The hot Epsom salts bath has been proven valuable in the treatment of psoriasis. Application of olive oil after the Epsom salt bath is also effective and also one of the effective home remedies for psoriasis.

Regular seawater baths and application of seawater over the affected parts once a day is highly beneficial. This is one of the best psoriasis remedy.

Bitter gourd is a valuable home remedy for psoriasis. Take a cup of fresh juice of this vegetable, mixed with a teaspoon of limejuice on an empty stomach daily for four to six months. This is a good diet for psoriasis.

The use of mudpacks is also beneficial for the psoriasis. They absorb and remove the toxins from the affected areas.

Cabbage leaves can be used in the form of compresses. They can be applied on the affected area after removing the thick veins and washing them thoroughly. This is also one of the effective home remedies for psoriasis.

are you taking vitamin d3? i had a major breakout about 3 yrs ago from a stressful situation. i tried everything to help my skin. i started using a scar cream called rosehips and hibiscus scar cream from a local skin care company. i noticed some of the new lesions were fading. i hadn't taked vit d3 up to this point. the cream seemed to be helping my skin. about 1 month after i started using the cream twice daily i noticed the lesions were really shrinking but not going totally away. i started vit d3 and i am now psoriasis free on my arms trunk of my body and one leg. i still have a small lesion on my knee but it is fading. my back is getting better also. i still have to use a zinc shampoo for my scalp but i am amazed how the vit d3 and this cream helped me. if i see a new lesion coming i quickly apply the cream. i take about 1800iu of vit d daily. i hope taking the vitamin d3 helps you. the scar cream was amazing also.
