One of the medical advices clinical practitioners give to clients with back problems is encouraging people to stay active and return to their jobs. However, a recent study generated results that taking time-off from work does not seem to be the best recommendations as the medical professionals giving advices weren't directly visiting the client's workplace. In the said study, around 70% of chiropractors, osteopaths and physiotherapists recommends working during episodes of back pain. Only 2% have actually gave a certification to take a time-off from work. As the study went deeper, it was found out that the medical professionals who were not releasing paid-leave ceritificates due to back pain were actually not visiting the workplace directly. Hence, the medical advice given could be lacking an important factor to consider - the workplace.
