I'm very interested in purchasing some Thyromine - especially after reading all the positive testimonials. But before I purchase (or ingest!) any health supplement, I want to know what's in it. I've gone on a gazillion Thyromine websites and though it states what the ingredients are, I can't find the amounts anywhere (i.e. How many milligrams of bovine adrenal powder, bovine thyroid powder, L-Tyrosine, guggulipid, nori, ginger, and piper longum are contained in each capsule of Thyromine?). Also, does Thyromine contain thyroxine or has it been processed to have the thyroxine removed? Proprietary info or not, I believe it's illegal not to state ingredients and amounts on a container of health supplements. And I must say, it's of concern to me that nowhere on the Thyromine websites, including HealthyBuy, is there any contact information where I could get this info - no e-mail address and no phone number (just an order line that doesn't have access to product info). And the only way you can access Thyromine's "Customer Care" is if you're already a customer - which I find quite bizarre. Additionally, I finally did find a Thyromine distributor who had an e-mail contact address so I e-mailed him my questions - and he replied that I should contact the manufacturer!! So I replied that there was no contact info for the manufacturer, and could he give me that info - well, he has yet to reply, if he ever will. What gives? It all seems rather fishy to me. That said, I'm assuming that the ingredient amounts and the thyroxine info are on the Thyromine container so could someone out there who is taking it please post a message with this info? Thank you!

I just found the following post about Thyromine on the messageboard of www.sparkpeople.com: "This product does not feature an itemized label with the amounts of ingredients and a search on the internet didn't provide me with one. I bought it hoping for a natural source of thyroid substance since that ingredient is listed but when it arrived, I found out there is only 1 mg. of that in it. LOther than that, you get 200 mg of L-Tyrosine, which is helpful, but you could buy that much cheaper in any health food store. For people with low thyroid, it's almost a placebo. On the bottle, there is also no telephone number or address for the company or the distributor. It could be a [...]. At any rate, don't waste your money. (author gave it one star)". Any comments?

Also, has anyone tried "TG Metabolizer" from "Creation's Garden"? It's supposedly manufactured by the same person who created Thyromine...

I use THYROID Px which was prescribed to me by a Naturopathic Dr. which I see at the Naturopathic College because they have supervising doctors, excellent attentive care and it's only $25 per visit. The same company that makes THYROID Px also make a supplement called THYROCARE which has the same ingredients but at half strength and you don't need a prescription. Here is the link http://www.wtsmedprofessionals.com/products/thyrocare I've used the 2nd one when I ran out of the 1st and was in between appointments. It has been a life saver because I've had every thyroid test and they all show that I'm smack dab in the middle of the normal range. Yet I lost about 50% of my hair, my temperature was 95.1 instead of 98.6 and I always had goosebumps even in a hot shower, when my hair grew back it was thin and dry like baby hair, crying jags, weight gain, constipation, tired. If I went for a 20min walk, I'd have to go to bed for an hour afterwards. Apparently my condition is called Wilson's Temperature Syndrome and concerns the thyroid. I forgot my supplements when I went on vacation and after about 5 days off them, the symptoms started coming back. But now after a year of taking 6 capsules per day, I'm not foggy, tired, moody and I actually feel like doing things. I've weaned myself down to 1 capsule every 2 days and still no symptoms. I can walk for about 2hours now without getting tired. It's weird though, thyroid was only brought to my attention after the Naturopath did a full profile on me. I actually went to them because I got Spontaneous Arthritis in my hands. I just woke up one morning with excruciating pain in my hands for no reason, and could not close my fingers, dress myself, use the washroom or anything with my hands. I had no inflammation in my fingers, they looked normal and dr.s were dumbfounded. Since being treated for the thyroid (even though the dr.'s say my thyroid is normal) my hands have improved about 90%. I can do everything I used to with just some mild soreness. Anyway, hope this helps someon. I know what it's like to suffer. My sympathies. Linda
