SCAM ALERT: Colopure and Central Coast Nutraceuticals

Posted: Saturday, January 24, 2009 11:12:02 AM
I ordered a "free trial" of colopure from their distributor Central Coast Nutraceuticals ...In addition to the "free trial" They sent me and CHARGE ME for 2 products I didn't order, for a total of $44.85!! and now I have to go through all sorts of time-consuming loops to just return the stuff I didn't order...plus I have to pay for the shipping (of the stuff I didn't order) plus I have to pay for a "restocking fee" (of the stuff I didn't order). Complete scam, do not EVER deal with that company. I am going to file a complaint with a consumer advocate agency.

I want to file a BBB and CDC complaint against Central Coast Nutraceuticals. The BBB requires more information to file a cpmplaint than i have: Address, phone number, state, Zip code etc. if anyone can provide that information please send it to me and i will file a complaint.

I had ordered their product and received two packages at different times. I sent back the first package certified mail because I had already opened it. The second package, I didn't open and took it back to the post office and asked them to return to sender. I cancelled both orders over the phone and was told that I would receive a refund. I received a refund for the first package that I had sent certified but for the other package, they are saying that I cannnot get a refund because apparently, the package is still at the post office. They are claiming that they need to have received the package within 30 days for me to receive a refund. What kind of BS is that?!! And the rep that I talked to was literally yelling at me and hung up the phone on me!

I got hoodwinked into this scam back in oct 09, I took the colopure or whatever it is called and got really sick. I stopped taking it and called the customer sevice number and cancelled my account, the woman I talked to told me just to send back the unused portion, she never once told me how or that i needed to get some type of verification number, so I put it in a padded envelope and stuck some stamps on it and sent it on its way never thinking of it again....Today, March 5, 2010 I recieved an email from CENTRAL COAST NUTRACEUTICALS collection dept stating that my account was going to be sent to a third party collection agecny...>WHAT????? they never recieved the package (or so they say) and now they want to charge me 327.00? So I called and bitched and they hung up on me telling me that since I failed to get a verification number my account is still active and I am liable for the balance. I began to dig alittle and found this forum....i have also found thru the BBB the email address for the General Manager and sent him a NASTY email, so hopefully this will be taken care of!!!!! SCAMMERS!!!

I was automatically signed up for colopure cleanse when I purchased another product. A pop-up advertising colopure came up and all I did was close the pop-up. My credit card info was used from the other product I was purchasing. I have contacted my bank to file a credit card fraud claim, returned the products I received (unopened), and sent a letter to the Colopure Cleanse company requesting a full refund and asking them to discontinue sending the products. I have 2 numbers for the company 1-888-778-4605 and 1-877-458-5831. I have not been able to contact anyone at either number. I found an address online: 398 E. Dania Beach Blvd Suite #395 Dania Beach, FL 33004 Best of luck to everyone.

I ordered this product because it was a "FREE TRIAL" and just pay postage of $1.95. DID NOT EVEN USE THE PRODUCT. Paid postage and then was sent to collections for $79.99. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT. WARNING DO NOT ORDER!!!!!!!!!

THIS WAS A LESSON LEARNED. I WOULD NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY OR ANY OTHER COMPANY ADVERTISING "FREE".

I know this is long-winded so, nutshell: I found lawsuit info & tons of contact info at the BBB and it's all here. So...They're trying to collect from me, too. In August 2009 I ordered the "risk-free" 14-day trial and was billed for and paid the shipping fee of $1.95. As I had not yet received the product by day 7 of the 10-day cancellation timeframe, I called the toll-free number to cancel, as I didn't want regular monthly charges applied to my credit card if I didn't even know if the product worked. I was on hold for 47 minutes and hung up. Since there was no other contact info on their webiste, I called my credit card company and cancelled my card. So today, 4/23/10, I receive a call from their collections dept. telling me I owe them $60. I took the woman's name and # and told her I'd call her back after I checked my records (which I did, but got her voice mail). In the meantime, I did some poking around at the BBB website and found some interesting info to share. This is verbiage from a COURT JUDGMENT: "On June 16, 2009, the Arizona Attorney General’s office issued a consent judgment against Central Coast Nutraceuticals and President and CEO Graham Gibson for acts and practices that violate the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act. The settlement resolves a consumer fraud lawsuit that alleged deceptive online sales practices by CCN. Additionally, the Attorney General alleged that CCN used a variety of deceptive tactics marketing low-cost “risk-free” trial offers of health supplements. It was ordered that under the terms of the settlement CCN will pay $1,000,000 in civil penalties to the state, $350,000 in consumer restitution and $25,000 to cover the state’s legal and investigative costs. In addition to the financial settlement, the agreement prohibits CCN from violating the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act. It also requires the company to clearly disclose to consumers the consequences involved with ordering a trial product from CCN. This Consent Judgment is entered as a result of a compromise and a settlement agreement between the parties."

They just called after 8 months and say I owe them $118 for the "Free trail Sample"?
Yeah right. Hold your breath.
PLEASE contact the Attorney General of Arazona and file a complaint.
It takes only a few minutes and they need about the misleading and deceptive practises of these people. Do a search for the AG office to file the complaint.
It will help everyone to put a stop to these pack of scambags

Like all of you, I too am caught in the acai/colopure scam. I just got done disputing the overcharges with my credit card company.I have cancelled my credit cards so these blood suckers can't continue to bill me later. I will probably have to eat the first bogus charges, but it will end there. These people are really decieving and unconsionable.
