This natural preservatie is a weak organic acid that is used to add an acidic, or sour, taste to foods and soft drinks. Citric acid has been used as an additive to soft drinks, beer, and seltzer, and in many juices. The acid can be found in many fruits or vegetables, but most comon are citrus fruits such as lemons or limes, these have particulary high concentration/amount of this acid.
