Theanine

Theanine Description

This medication is an amino acid and is commonly found in tea or in the basidiomycete mushroom. It can cross the blood-brain barier(metabolic or cellular structure in the central nervous system, restricts the passage of various chemical substances and microscopic objects to the bran from the bloodstream) which means that it can have psychoactive properties.

Theanine is a caffeine antagonist, that is why you don't get the jitters from tea, like you do from coffee, which has no theanine.
