Kava

Kava Description

An alternative to prescription anxiety medications but without the associated sedative, hypnotic, or withdrawal symptoms. A study in '93 showed it to be as effective as some benzodiazapines (a class of anxiety medications) in reducing anxiety. Recommended daily dose is 65 - 85mg of kava lactones 3 times a day. Look for results beginning within 2 days. Side effects are minimal, consisting mostly of mild stomach upset.
