Cascara Sagrada Description

Cascara sagrada has been used by Native Americans for a long time. Cascara sagrada has compounds called anthroquinones, that are responsible for cascara's powerful laxative effects. The Anthraquinones part of cascara segrada triggers contractions in the colon resulting in bowel movements. It is one of the most common herbal laxatives. In addition to it being a great laxative it is also believed that it improves muscle tones of the colon walls.
