Finasteride Description
Known as Propecia, Proscar, Fincar, Finax, Finpecia, Finara, Finast, Finalo, Gefina, Prosteride, Finasterid IVAX
It was in 1997 that the FTA approved Finasteride as a treatment for male pattern baldness. While Finasteride can be used for prostate enlargement it is more commonly used for hair loss treatment. 1mg is prescribed for hair loss while 5mg for prostate cancer prevention.
