Hypothyroidism - Signs and Symptoms

What are the symptoms of hypothyroidism?

The early symptoms of hypothyroidism include:

-weight gain

-reduced muscle tone and increased muscle cramping

-tiredness

-more sensitive to the cold

-constipation

-joint pain

-brittle fingernails and hair

-an increase in the paleness of skin

The later symptoms are:

-slowing down of speech and hoarse voice that can also get deeper

-dry puffy face

-thinning eyebrows

-irregular periods

-low body temperature when you first wake up

Less common symptoms include cognitive impairment, migraines, hair loss, anemia, slower heart rate, panic attacks, mood instability and slower reflexes.
