Achilles Tendinitis Health Center

Achilles tendinitis is inflammation of the band of tissue that connects calf muscle at the back of lower leg to the heel bone. It is often a running or other sports related injury, resulting from overuse, jumping, exercise or other activities that put strain on the tendon and calf muscles. In most cases Achilles tendinitis can be treated with a relatively simple at home care. More serious cases can lead to tendon tears and might require surgery to repair damaged tissues.
