Atopic Dermatitis - Eczema Health Center

Atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, is an itchy inflammation of the skin. It is a long lasting (chronic) condition which can be accompanied by asthma or hay fever. Though it is most often seen in infants and children, it can continue into adulthood, or can first appear at later stages of life. Eczema can affect any area, but it most often appears on the arms and behind the knees. It tends to have periodic flare-ups, after which it subsides.
