Bell's Palsy Health Center

Bell's palsy occurs when the nerve which controls facial muscles on one side of the face becomes inflamed or swollen. As a result of this the face feels stiff, and half of the face appears to droop, the smile is one sided, and the eye resists closing. While Bell's palsy can affect anyone, it rarely affects people under the age of 15 or over the age of 60.
