Bladder Cancer Health Center

Bladder cancer is a cancer which begins in the bladder, a balloon shaped organ in the pelvic region which stores urine. Bladder cancer begins most often in the cells which line the inside of the bladder, and it typically affects older adults, though it can occur at any age. The vast majority of bladder cancers are diagnosed during the early stage, when it is highly treatable. Even early stage bladder cancer however, is likely to recur so bladder cancer survivors often undergo follow-up tests to look for bladder cancer recurrence for years after the completion of treatment.
