Blastocystis Hominis Infection - Treatment

Treatment For Blastocystis Hominis Infection

People who have blastocystis and have no symptoms do not need treatment, and mild symptoms may improve on their own within a few days.  Potential medications for treating blastocystis include antibiotic metronidazole, a combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, and the antiprotozoal medication iodoquinol.
