Buerger's disease is a rare disease of the arteries and veins in arms and legs. With Buerger's disease, the blood vessels become inflamed, swell and can become blocked with blood clots (thrombi). This eventually damages or destroys skin tissues and can lead to infection and gangrene. Buerger's disease typically first shows up in hands and feet and can eventually affect larger areas of arms and legs.
