Canker Sore Health Center

Canker sores, also called aphthous ulcers, are small shallow lesions which develop on the soft tissues in the mouth and at the base of the gums. Unlike cold sores, canker sores do not occur on the surface of the lips and are not contagious. Canker sores can be very painful and can make eating and talking difficult.
