Carcinoid Tumors Health Center

Carcinoid tumors are a slow-growing cancer which can arise in several places throughout the body. Carcinoid tumors, a subset of tumors called neuroendocrine tumors, usually appear in the gastrointestinal tract, and in the lungs. Carcinoid tumors usually do not cause symptoms until late in the disease. Carcinoid tumors can produce and release hormones into the body which cause symptoms such as diarrhea or skin flushing.
