Cervical Dystonia Health Center

Cervical dystonia, also known as spasmodic torticollis, is a painful condition in which the neck muscles contract involuntarily, causing the head to twist to one side, and may also cause the head to uncontrollably tilt forward or back. It is a rare disorder which can occur at any age, even infancy, but it most often occurs in middle-aged women. Symptoms typically begin gradually and eventually reach a point where they do not get any worse.
