Cluster Headache Health Center

A cluster headache is among the most painful types of headaches. A characterizing feature of cluster headache is that the attacks occur in cyclical patters, or clusters, which gave the condition its name. Bouts of frequent attacks, known as clusters, can last from weeks to months, typically followed by remission periods when the headache attacks totally stop. The pattern varies from person to person, but most people have one or two cluster periods per year. During remission, no headaches occur for months and in some cases years.
