Complications of Colon Cancer

There are several complications of colon cancer. These include:

-metastasis: this is when the colon cancer spreads to other parts of the body and organs, most often the liver, the lungs, bones and the brain

-anemia: when the polyps bleed it can result in anemia, which is a lack of red blood cells and/or hemoglobin

-recurrence: another complication is when colon cancer comes back after it has gone into remission

-development of another primary colon cancer
