Convergence Insufficiency Health Center

Convergence insufficiency occurs when the eyes do not turn inward properly while focusing on a nearby object. When reading, or looking at a close object, the eyes should converge (turn inward together to focus) so that they provide binocular vision, and that a single image is seen. With convergence insufficiency, the eyes are unable to focus normally. Convergence insufficiency is most commonly diagnosed in older children and adolescents.
