Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Health Center

Cyclic vomiting syndrome causes bouts of severe nausea and vomiting which can last for days. The disorder can affect as many as one in every fifty children. Once believed to affect primarily girls, cyclic vomiting syndrome is now believed to affect boys and girls equally. Symptoms usually begin between the ages of 3 and 7. While the disorder occurs most commonly in children, cyclic vomiting syndrome can occur at any age. Adult episodes usually occur less often than they do in children, but they usually last longer.
