Hemorrhoids Complications
There are several complications associated with hemorrhoids and these include:
-ruptured hemorrhoid: this is when the hemorrhoid tears open, resulting in bleeding
-gastrointestinal bleeding: this is bleeding in the digestive tract due to hemorrhoids
-anemia: this is a deficiency of red blood cells and/or hemoglobin and can result if too much blood is lost
-thrombosis hemorrhoids: these are hemorrhoids that have developed a clot inside and are usually quite painful
-strangulation: this occurs when a prolapsed hemorrhoid's blood supply has become obstructed by the tightening of the anal sphincter and is very painful
