Hemorrhoids - Treatment

What can you do about hemorrhoids?

If you want to stop the itching, pain and bleeding associated with hemorrhoids,  there are several treatments available. These include oral and topical medications and herbal remedies, as well as surgical removal and "banding" which cuts off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid.

Creams can provide temporary relief, but often in the long run the hemorrhoids only get worse. Oral herbal treatments have worked for many people and can have longer lasting results than topical creams, but they don't work for everyone. Surgery is expensive and painful, and it is not always a success, but for the most severe hemorrhoids it may be the only option. Banding can work, but is also extremely painful and expensive.

All of these treatments have their pros and cons, and you may want to talk to a doctor about the best treatment option for you.
