Hives (or Urticaria)
Hives (or Urticaria) is a type of skin rash which mostly appears as raised dark red bumps on the skin. While Hives are mostly caused by allergic reactions there are many other non-allergic causes.

We find that most Hives which last less then 6 weeks are usually caused by an allergic reaction and are known as "acute hives". Chronic Hives are those that last longer then 6 weeks and the cause of it is usually unknown.
