Symptoms of kidney disease

The symptoms of chronic kidney disease are hard to notice until the later stages, which is why so many people are unaware that they have it. That's why it's important to keep a close eye out for the following symptoms.

- Changes in urine: You may find that you have to urinate at night, more frequently or less frequently, and that it is foamy and paler than normal. You may have difficulty urinating and there may also be blood in your urine.

-Swelling: The excess fluid accumulating due to reduced function of the kidneys can result in swelling of the legs, feet, face, ankles and hands.

-Fatigue: Kidney disease can lead to anemia, which makes you feel more tired. You may find yourself sleeping more than normal.

-Itching: The buildup of wastes due to reduced kidney function can result in severe itching, and feeling that the source is below the skin.

-Vomiting and nauseation: Vomiting, nausea and sometimes a lack of appetite can be a sign of kidney disease.

-Feeling short of breath: The excess fluid can build up in the lungs, and anemia can also leave you feeling short of breath due to lack of oxygen.

-Getting the chills: Even in a warm environment, you may feel chilly due to anemia.

-Feeling dizzy and difficulty concentrating: Anemia reduces the blood supply to your brain, resulting in feeling dizzy, difficulty concentrating and remembering.
