Pregnancy week by week Menu
Week 15
You:
At week 15 you may be offered a maternal blood screening known as an alpha feto protein test. This test screens for neural tube defects such as spina bifida. Your heart is getting larger and increasing its output to supply oxygen to the baby. This will continue throughout the pregnancy. You may want to try new sexual positions. Unless your doctor says otherwise, sex is perfectly safe throughout the pregnancy. There is a good chance that you are really starting to show now, so you will likely need maternity clothes soon if not now.
Your baby:
Baby is starting to move quite a bit, flailing his or her arms and legs, which have grown and you may start to feel it faintly. The body is getting larger in relation to the head. Baby's hearing ability is developing as the bones in the middle ear form. The skin is still very thin and transparent. Eyebrows and hair on the head are starting to appear.
