Pregnancy week by week Menu
Week 18
You:
In week 18, you may need to use pillows creatively to help you sleep and maybe invest in a pregnancy pillow. Doing pelvic tilts and emptying your bladder (since you now need to urinate much more frequently), before going to bed may also help. Feeling a little light headed and faint is normal around this time. If you feel this way more than several times a day, or you pass out, you should definitely tell your doctor.
Your baby:
Vernix, a white substance covers the baby's body, and along with body hair protects the baby while spending months immersed in water. Air sacks called alveoli, essential for breathing once the baby is born, begin to form in the lungs. Vocal cords are now developed, and the baby will practice crying in the womb!
