Week 3

You:

You should have ovulated by now, and a sperm has fertilized one of your eggs. Implantation (when the fertilzed egg, now called a blastocyst attaches to the uterine wall), typically occurs 8-10 days after ovulation. When implantation occurred  you may have noticed a small amount of bleeding from your vagina called spotting. This is implantation bleeding and is perfectly normal. If bleeding occurs later on in the pregnancy, you should contact your doctor right away.

Your baby:

Ovulation occurs and the sperm fertilizes the egg. This new life begins its journey to the uterus. As soon as fertilization occurs, the gender is determined, and cell division begins. Once implantation in the lining of the uterus occurs, this new life is called a blastocyst.
