Week 41

You:

After week 40, you will be watched very closely, and may get a non stress test to make sure the baby is still doing well. Around week 42 if the baby still hasn't arrived, your doctor will likely induce labor. This is very safe, and you will be closely watched in the hospital.

Once your baby has arrived, you will need to establish breastfeeding. This is not easy, but with patience, chances are your little one will learn to latch on and get the healthiest food there is. If you can't establish breastfeeding, there are good formula alternatives out there.

Your baby:

If your baby has yet to make an appearance, don't panic. Your baby is ready to be born, but it may take a few more days. Assuming he or she is healhty, baby is not in any danger unless he or she stays in longer than week 42.
