Week 5

You:

In week 5, you will probably feel quite tired. Other symptoms you may experience are heartburn, tender breasts, morning sickness, backaches and mood swings. You might also get headaches. Sleeping in a sports bra may help with the soreness in your breasts.

Some women don't get any of these symptoms, and if you are among them, count yourself lucky. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong.

Your baby:

The heart begins to beat, and the four heart chambers begin to function, pumping blood. The umbilical cord develops, which is the baby’s lifeline, providing oxygen and nutrients, and removing waste. Other organs such as the brain and lungs begin to develop. Also, tiny arm and leg buds begin to form.
