Smoking Bans Reduced Heart Attacks
Smoking Bans Reduced Heart Attacks
North American and European heart attack rates have dropped dramatically since introducing smoking bans on year ago. The areas that intruduced smoking bans saw on 17% fewer heart attacks than those areas that did not.
The study adds to the evidence that second hand smoke increases the risk of heart attacks. The findings suggest that smoking bans are an easy way to reduce heart attacks and reduce overall healthcare costs. There is also a good chance that smoke bans would reduce other cardiovascular conditions.
