Being of a Chinese background I'm use to using all kind of herbal products as that's how we're brought up, it's almost like a tradition that's past on from generation to generation.  Even though I've lived in NY for the better part of my life (34 years) I've never lost that tradition.

I found Bowtrol probably about 4 years ago if my memory serves me correct.  BOWTROL IS ONE AMAZING COLON CLEANSER.  I just thought I need to throw that out there :)

My family has been using colon cleansing products for over 120 years.  What we used before Bowtrol was a recipe that was past on from generation to generation and that recipe was dry prunes.  Basically what you do is put about 2 cups of water into a pot and get it to the point where it starts boiling.  Once the water boils put in 4 dry prunes and let the boiling water suck all the juice out of those dry prunes (about 3 minutes).  Once done take the prunes out and let it cool down for a bit.  Once it's worm enough to consume, drink the whole cup.  Make sure it doesn't get cold as it doesn't have the same effect.  Note that once you drink this you need to be at home and make sure the bathroom is free as you are going to have to go almost instantly.

Cleansing your colon with dry prunes however isn't something that's comfortable so I decided to go out and find something else.  After trying about 4 different colon cleansers I wanted to give up.  The first one I tried was Colonix as that's one that I've heard of before.  I hated it, the headaches from the morning fiber were unbearable.  Without going into detail about the other products I tried I stumbled across Bowtrol which was actually being compared to Colonix in the article I read.  I bought a 4 month supply of Bowtrol and have been using it ever since.  To a certain degree I may have made a mistake as now I have to ship out a box of Bowtrol bottles to China ever 12 months.

To everyone out there who's looking for a colon cleanser go with Bowtrol.  I've been doing the prune thing for just under 30 years and my family has been doing it for as long as we've been around.
