There are a number of car upholstery cleaners on the market these days.  There are a few things you need to look out for when you purchase the cleaners.  Some of these cleaners have chemicals inside them which could cause health related problems.  The best way to clean the upholstery in your car is to use a home made solution.  It has also come to my attention that GMC and Mazda have a very good Upholstery Cleaner which does not use any chemicals.  I will try to find the links to both of the companies and update this page.

Here is what you need to do it yourself.

• 1/4 cup of liquid dish detergent or laundry detergent and 1 cup of warm water.
• Mix the solution until suds appear as shipped cream.

You can use this cleaner on any kind of upholstery and know for sure that there are no harsh chemicals that could potentially be a health risk to you or your family.
