How to Treat a Yeast Infection

Friday, October 23, 2009

Yeast infections can cause a great deal of discomfort, but there are some simple ways to treat them. Here are a few of the best ways to treat yeast infections:

1. digestive enzymes, bearberry and berberine

2. probiotics

3. essential fatty acids including fish oil, flaxseed oil, and borage seed oil capsules

4. vitamins and minerals including calcium, iron and magnesium

You should also watch what you eat. Avoid foods that contain yeast such as yeast breads, fermented beverages and vinegars, salad dressing, moldy cheeses, biscuits, peanuts, canned citrus fruit juices, all dried fruit, cake mix, ice cream, tomato sauce, olives, pickles, oranges, sugars, yeast powder, mayonnaise, malt products, processed and smoked meats, barbecue sauce, chili peppers.

Also avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates, as well as artificial sweeteners, and sugar found in soft drinks, pastry, canned fruits and vegetables.
