The Guide To Removing & Preventing Stretch Marks

Take 5 minutes of your time and read what I've got to say if you want to prevent or remove stretch marks.

What Can You Do About Stretch Marks?

Do you suffer from unsightly stretch marks? Are you pregnant and afraid you will get them? Close to 90% of women will get stretch marks during their pregnancy. Some people say that it's a small price to pay for your bundle of joy, but do you really have to pay it? There are many approaches to preventing or removing stretch marks out there, but unfortunately most of them won't give you the results you're looking for. However, there are a few solutions that can actually help you to minimize the appearance of stretch marks.

What causes stretch marks?

As you gain weight during pregnancy the skin stretches. This stretching weakens the dermis by damaging collagen fibers and proteins. Destruction of collagen causes dilation of blood vessels, which in turn results in stretch marks. At the same time, increased secretion of glucocorticoid hormones during pregnancy interferes with the production of elastin and collagen fibers. Without the supportive function of elastin and collagen the dermis is more prone to break down, leaving stretch marks, and making the skin less taut.

How can you prevent or remove stretch marks?

It is easier to prevent stretch marks than to get rid of them. One thing you can do to help prevent stretch marks is to drink plenty of water and stay well hydrated. There are also several lotions and creams available that claim to prevent stretch marks. Some people swear by lotions that contain cocoa butter, but there is no scientific evidence to prove that it actually works.

What we do know is that vitamin A and E help to increase the elasticity and strength of the skin by increasing the production of collagen and elastin. This dramatically reduces the occurrence of stretch marks. There is a stretch mark cream on the market called Revitol Stretch Mark that contains large amounts of these vitamins. It also contains complementary ingredients that help protect and regenerate the skin, such as squalene oil, vitamin D3 and aloe vera. Many users of this product have reported successful results by applying it at least 3 times daily throughout their pregnancy.

The good news for those who already have stretch marks is that Revitol Stretch Mark is also able to reduce the appearance of existing stretch marks. For many, this approach to removing stretch marks is preferable to the alternatives which include expensive and invasive tummy tuck surgery or laser surgery.

What other solutions are available?

Tummy tucks can cost upwards of $10,000 and results will depend on the skill of the surgeon. Of course, this procedure will inevitably leave an unsightly scar on the abdomen. Then there is the pain, discomfort and risk of infection following the procedure. Any invasive surgery also involves some risk. Laser surgery is not invasive, but it does not remove the stretch marks either. All it can do is reduce the appearance of stretch marks by making them lighter, and results have been mixed at best. Blue light therapy does the same thing as laser therapy, so if your stretch marks have already faded from red to a lighter color, then the procedure is worthless. Chemical peels and exfoliation have not proven to be effective in removing stretch marks either, although they may temporarily reduce their appearance.

Conclusion

Revitol Stretch Mark is gaining in popularity, because the alternatives are not appealing to most people. With the exception of an expensive tummy tuck that will leave a noticeable scar, nothing seems to work as well for reducing the appearance of stretch marks. And if you start using Revitol early on in your pregnancy, you can prevent stretch marks from occurring in the first place.

Tracy: Below is my most recent picture, this is after using it for about 4 months. I have two more bottles left so I'm hopping that should get rid of the little that's left. Now all I need to do is shed the pounds I gained during the pregnancy and I'll be back to my normal self.

Sarah: I've gotten rid of most of the stretch marks within 5 months of using the Revitol Stretch Mark product.
