The Consequences of a Lack of Sleep

It is very important to get adequate sleep. There are many negative consequences that arise if you fail to get enough sleep on a regular basis. Not only is it important to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night, but we need quality sleep.

One consequence of inadequate sleep is high blood pressure which can lead to heart problems.

Another problem that arises is that a lack of sleep weakens the immune system. This can lead to getting more illnesses.

A lack of sleep also raises the level of stress hormones in your body. This can result in weight gain.

The risk of cancer also rises among those who fail to get adequate sleep.

Lack of sleep has a negative effect on brain function, make it more difficult to remember things and concentrate. A lack of sleep can also lead to depression and other mood problems.

A lack of sleep can interfere with growth in children and also interfere with the body's healing process.

Lastly, a lack of sleep can make every day tasks such as driving dangerous.
