Tips to Help You Get Better Sleep

Friday, December 11, 2009

Getting good sleep is vital for your health. If you are having trouble sleeping, there are several things you can do to get a better night's rest.

The first thing you need to do is make sleep a high priority. This means going to bed at a reasonable hour as much as possible.

Establishing a routine is also important. Stop watching TV well in advance of going to bed. Try having a non-caffeinated tea and getting into your pajamas.

Make your bedroom dedicated to sleep by removing clutter. Remove the TV and any books. Put your clothes in a closet outside your room. Make sure your mattress is comfortable.

Avoid eating or drinking close to bedtime. Also avoid smoking or drinking alcohol shortly before bedtime.

These tips can make a huge difference in your ability to get to sleep.
