Zone Diet for Weight Loss
The Zone Diet offers a scientific way to lose weight, affecting the hormone levels in your body that control weight and overall health. Technically, it's not actually a diet, it's really a lifestyle.
The Zone diet involves getting your hormones into a range where you are able to reduce hunger while consuming fewer calories, but you still get the proper nutrition needed for overall health. It means you can only consume carbohydrates, protein and fat at moderate levels. For every gram of fat, 2 grams of protein and 3 grams of carbohydrates are consumed. This is recommended by the Harvard Medical School in treating type 2 diabetes and obesity.
This balance enables you to control levels of insulin, glucagon and eicosanoids. This results in reduced fat, stable blood sugar levels, control inflammation and balance other hormone levels.
It is also recommended that while following the diet, you exercise 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week. There is all kinds of information available online to help you follow the Zone Diet. Before you decide to go on it, it is important that you consult a doctor first to see if it is right for you.
